The United States Hosts APEC Alliance For Supply Chain Connectivity (A2C2) Regional Roundtable in Mexico City

On January 13, 2026, the United States government led the APEC Alliance for Supply Chain Connectivity (A2C2) Regional Roundtable in Mexico City.

The meeting’s primary objective was to modernize trade flows within the Asia-Pacific region and strengthen the response to future global crises.

The Mexico City gathering builds upon the agreements reached during the Third Senior Officials’ Meeting (SOM3) held in Incheon, Korea, in 2025.

That meeting prioritized the need to expand the participation of new stakeholders and propose innovative approaches to integrate the private sector into strategic supply chain decision-making.

During the event, government leaders and private sector representatives identified the digitalization of customs processes as the strategic priority for 2026.

It was concluded that logistical efficiency depends on the adoption of new technologies and technical workforce training to reduce costs and wait times.

The A2C2 alliance, which has been operating since 2014, has established itself as the primary bridge between businesses and governments to eliminate trade barriers.

By promoting more secure and diverse supply chains, the initiative seeks not only to stabilize consumer prices but also to drive job creation and sustainable economic growth throughout the region.
