Education provides stability during periods of global uncertainty.
In this reflection, IIEP-UNESCO argues that education remains one of the most effective tools for navigating an increasingly uncertain world marked by conflict, climate change, economic instability, technological disruption, and growing social inequalities. While these challenges place significant pressure on education systems, they also reinforce the importance of educational planning and governance. The article emphasizes that access to quality education helps individuals and communities build resilience, adapt to change, and create more sustainable futures in times of crisis.
Educational planning is essential for building resilient societies.
The article highlights the role of educational planning as a strategic response to uncertainty. According to IIEP-UNESCO, governments must move beyond short-term reactions and invest in long-term policies capable of anticipating risks and adapting to emerging challenges. Effective planning requires reliable data, strong institutions, and inclusive decision-making processes that consider the needs of diverse populations. By strengthening education systems today, countries can better prepare future generations to respond to complex global challenges while promoting equity, stability, and sustainable development.
