Furthermore, individuals over age 65 now comprise 15 percent of the regional population. As a result, the labor force will face a structural contraction by the year 2035. In contrast, global projections estimate the disruption of 92 million jobs alongside the creation of 170 million new roles by 2030.
Professional Reskilling and Lifelong Learning
Technological progress offers unprecedented potential for identifying emerging employment profiles and skills gaps. For instance, artificial intelligence enables real-time forecasting of labor market demands across various sectors. Consequently, economies must increase investments in continuous reskilling and technical training programs. In addition, governments must extend digital literacy initiatives to vulnerable groups and persons with disabilities.
Social Protection and Regional Standards
Evolving employment models demand flexible regulatory frameworks to cover platform workers and informal labor. Therefore, ministers supported establishing regional qualifications frameworks to facilitate skills recognition. Furthermore, demographic aging places expanding financial pressure on national pension and healthcare systems. As a result, member economies will deploy advanced digital tools to forecast costs and streamline access to social safety nets.
