A serious Pakistan summons Indian diplomat border killing BSF dispute erupted following a fatal shooting along the international border. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned India’s charge d’affaires on Saturday to deliver a strong protest over the death of two Pakistani civilians. According to Pakistani officials, Indian Border Security Force (BSF) personnel shot the victims in the Bedian sector on Friday, leaving another individual injured. Consequently, diplomatic tensions between the neighboring nations have intensified once again.
The Pakistani Foreign Ministry condemned the shooting as an unprovoked and excessive use of force against unarmed civilians. Conversely, Indian security sources cited by local media characterized the event as a thwarted infiltration attempt. However, Islamabad categorically rejected claims describing the deceased men as infiltrators.
Furthermore, Pakistani authorities demanded a transparent and immediate investigation into the border incident. Specifically, the ministry requested that India take legal action against the responsible BSF personnel and share the official findings with Pakistan.
Cross-border incidents along the India-Pakistan border frequently strain bilateral relations. While Indian authorities routinely inspect border zones for security threats, Pakistani officials emphasize the need to protect civilian lives near frontier villages. Ultimately, the lack of an immediate formal response from New Delhi leaves the situation unresolved as diplomatic channels remain active.
