The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights updated its list of companies linked to Israeli settlements on Friday, 25 September. The settlements are considered illegal under international law. The list now names 214 companies, most of them Israeli. It is not exhaustive and is updated regularly, with companies added and removed over time. Israel rejects the list.
Several major international firms remain on the database, including Airbnb, Booking, Expedia, Motorola and Trip Advisor. Five companies were removed compared with 2025: one Israeli, two Spanish, one Canadian and one Portuguese. Two French firms are still listed, the same as in 2025: Egis and its subsidiary Egis Rail.
UN human rights chief Volker Türk said the report reminds companies that they have human rights responsibilities. He added that they must carry out due diligence to ensure they are not involved in violations or abuses. The list was first published in 2020, following a 2016 Human Rights Council resolution calling for a database of businesses involved in settlement activities in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem.
Israel’s mission to the UN in Geneva condemned the database. It said the mechanism was created only to persecute the Jewish state and has no equivalent anywhere in the world. It called the list a political tool used to run a smear campaign against companies that have done nothing wrong.
